Default Heater/air fan

Heater/fan blower working 1 minute...not working the next...any thoughts from owners who have had this problem?

Most problems occur with the regulator which is mounted on the back of the fan, see picture, these are quite expensive. MMZ-Timelord was working on a cheaper and more reliable part to replace this item.

180: Thanks for the rapid response... how expensive is "quite expensive" and approximate degree of removal/installation for a # 7 mechanically savvy guy? Appreciate the help...Carl

Here is an expensive one, that's because it is listed as a part for the Crossfire. Get one which is the same part but with an Mercedes number. They are simple to change, take out the heater blower and install this in place of the broken one.
Another common failure is the fan speed control on the dash, it is a toss up which has failed
.

eBay new and used. From $48.00.

They look the same.. but please contact seller as noted in the auction..

Hi,
I bought mine from RockAuto under Mercedes 2004 SLK320 section...about $60.00. Works great except I had to reuse the foam gasket from the original part.
