Default Reading Power Steering Fluid Level

Can someone please direct me to a post telling or showing how to read the dipstick for the power steering. I am totally confused about the significance of the centigrade degree marks on the dipstick. The owner's manual does not appear to have any clarification and I am the brand new owner of an 05 Alabaster Coupe. Steering sometimes seems hard and there is some noise coming from the front of the engine More noticeable when the engine is cold. Thanks for any help.

The lower mark is cold temp level, the higher mark is operating temp level. If you always keep it around the high mark, you're in good shape.
