Split Windshield
Does anyone know if the "split" style windshield that appeared on the original concept Crossfire is available for acquisition? (reminds me of my 50 Ford coupe I had in 1956)..
Carl
If I remember correctly, the concept had a 1 piece windshield. The wiper parks in the middle making it appear split...

Yea, and hope you never get caught in the rain ......
Others have had the same thought but I haven't seen anything come of it

James1549::I think you are correct...it does "look" like a split. Also the configeration of the windshield looks akin to the 55,56,57 "pan0ramic" style of the Chevy windshield...Carl
I'm coming from a waaaay different era regarding the split windshield. In this case you can see that it continues over the top. It also continues all the way down the back, even though there is a built in cover for the spare tire. This is my favorite car of all time. Bugatti Atlantic.

Jim, actually the first Atlantic was made of Elektron (a magnesium alloy) - which was either impossible or extremely difficult to weld (at that time). The other three bodies were made of aluminum but since everyone liked the 'riveted seam' they stuck with it.
By the by, if I was making a split windshield, I'd use raised metal both inside and out. Yes, you could look down the edge and see that it was a fake divider, but it would have the split window look.

I think it would be really annoying while driving. You would be constantly moving your head to see around the center connection. I think it would have been better if they put a split window in the back like the vette had for one year.
