Default Idle issues

Today when I was driving my car it was running fine and all of a sudden it just died while I was driving. Then after I started it again it wouldnt idle, it would turn over and start but would keep stalling. Then once I got it driving down the road again, every time I would push in the clutch and put it in neutral to just roll to a stop it would keep idling up to 2k then fall to 1k then back to 2k and back to 1k. Anybody have this problem aswell? Or have an idea of what the problem is?

No vacuum lines loose that I can see. Also I changed the front six spark plugs yesterday, would that have anything to do with it?

Cables hooked up tightly on the plugs?
I do not believe in coincident problems like this too much.

180 thank u so much for the help, really appreciate it. So if the MAF is the faulty part is it possible to buy just the sensor or do they all come with the housing?

The sensor should have a number on it - Bosch? The number you list is the whole assembly. You only want the sensor itself, do not let them tell you that you want the whole thing.
You may get results with spraying the sensor with MAF cleaner, it worked before.
Maybe you can just buy the sensor, I do not know, just do not buy it from Chrysler or Mercedes when you have the part number.
I cannot say what is actually wrong.

Make sure that you got the engine cover back on correctly. Jack's Red Racer was having an idle issue and it was just the cover was not set on tight. Reset correctly and the car was back to racing

By any chance do you have a K&N air filter and did you clean/oil it ? Have heard of the oil clogging a MAF and, if so cleaning fixed.

DO NOT use carb cleaner, it can damage the sensor. There is a MAF cleaner at most FLAPS.

No I do not have k&n filters, and I just checked all the spark plug boots and the engine cover. Still not fixed. Not sure what to do next. I do not want to take it to a shop here in tucson because I do not know of one I can trust

Just a heads up to the OP, I had the exact same issue and was resolved by getting a new bosch MAF, however few months later car was running lean again and experiencing same symptoms (idle between 2-3k fluctuate, and car shutting off, and not starting properly.)

I ended up having to order another MAF but got the official OEM Bosch one from mopar $450!!!
