December Car & Driver magazine, page 26......shows you how to build a cheap jet engine from a turbocharger......350 pounds of thrust.

That could be better than Nitrous. Have the License plate swing up and Voila, the turbine kicks in.

I know, but you would have to know them.... Both retired from Chrysler. They were both machine repair guys. They can fab anything when they put their mind to it... and their sons are now taking their places at Chrysler, so they still have access...lol

Can someone that subcribes to the mag, scan the pages for this? I would love to see it. What issue is it in?

The issue is stated in the first post and it says December.

I tend to think that the thrust is over stated at 350 lbs. Normally these engines made using turbocharger parts are in the region of 30 lbs thrust.

At 350 lbs thrust it would be over ten times the power of the engines mentioned on this site from the UK. Some of these engines use turbo charger parts.

I have been wrong before but I think there is a typo somewhere.

So that must be the one that just came out, I thought that maybe it was an older issue. Thanks. I'll pick one up today.

May have to build this, just to say I did.
