Hey Everyone - Great Forum!!!
Hey Everyone - Great Forum!!!
Just got my Crossfire today. Got a great deal in the East Bay (SF) on the last '04 at the dealer. I thought $22,995 with a 7 year B2B warranty and free service was too good to pass up. I've been wanting one of these for a while and am glad to take the burden off my Laforza. Put 100 miles on her today and plan a trip to wine country tomorrow if it's not raining too hard. Anyone have tips on getting my luggage, upgrades or sore spots I should know about?

Re: Hey Everyone - Great Forum!!!
Just a straight up '04 coupe with 6-speed. I liked the 7 year no hassle plan though. WIth financing through my credit union I drove the car home with no money down (free coffee too, so technically, I win) and $525/month. I figure the free oil changes save $400/year, and most things break after the first 36 months. This one's a keeper for sure. I can't believe they let me drive the car away without dropping a single dollar...

Sounds like you got a great deal on the car. I know you'll enjoy it, sorry you have so much rain out there right now, but it's better than snow!!
As for sore spots, you'll just have to scan the forum to pick up different things that people have come across. Some haven't had any complaints, and some have.
Happy motoring and don't drink all the wine

Re: Hey Everyone - Great Forum!!!
Congrats on the new purchase.
You may find that the radio is ok if the car is not a real early production (ie. first couple of thousand).
There have been some that have had problems with 6 spd shift linkage but then some have had no problems. Since it is an '04, you have the equivalent to a limited version 2005.
You should get your luggage automatically as long as the dealer files the paperwork properly.
Wait about a mth before getting concerned at all. It will be handled by a separate company that DM contracts with.
Happy driving and drink all the wine but don't drive afterwards; exercise good judgement.

Dan - thanks for the details on the upgrades - As soon as I burn the originals, I will upgrade to the Gold pads. Truly - I like the way my XF is setup. More power would not be better, as the rubber is already on the road. My # is 4761 - guess it was sitting on the lot for a WHILE. Lucky for me. Thanks for the update on the luggage toplessental. I'm looking forward to using that on the Yosemite run!
My radio has no real problems, but next week when I get my detail, reset the service monitor and make them adjust the shift **** I'm going to work for a 2005 upgrade. X your fingers for me...

Re: Hey Everyone - Great Forum!!!
Bet you don't wait to wear out the pads. I had all 4 of mine replaced with rotex golds within the 1st month. You will get tired of cleaning the wheels every 50-75 miles. I got mine at brakeworld.com if you get them changed before you wear the originals much , all you have to do is slip the old ones out and put the new ones in with no adjustments. anyone wanna buy a set of original brake pads with 500 miles on them? Retail is $170 Make an offer, lol.
