Fram Air Filter
No, they are not good to use. They are garbage and made out of paper, they have a tendency to break down and fail. Only use a Mann fleece filter. I wouldnt use a fram filter on a toyota, they are just cheap bad filters that dont filter ****.

These air filters come two to a box. You need a set as the intake is a 'Y' into the throttle body.
Mann is OEM and preferred here. Check the filter inside your box. Often it is just a Mann filter in a re-branded box.

The Fram will work fine-for air, but are a bit restrictive.
DO NOT use anything but Mann oil filters, though. I've seen weird things happen with Mobil1 and Purolator.

For what it's worth, I've been using fram filters for over 40 years now and never had a problem. My vehicles go well over 200K before I get rid of them and they still have a tight engine, they just rust out. I once had a conversation with a fram engineer at a bar and he explained to me that although the fram is mostly cardboard and no metal internally that it's not the metal parts that make a good filter. He explained to me that it's all in the adhesive, that's the part that can break down in a filter and cause particles to get by. Fram uses good adhesive that will not break down during it's lifespan. Again, just adding what I've experienced and many disagree.
A little background and anecdotal information. Fram had some quality control problems (probably due to cost cutting) with their oil filters before 2000 after they were bought out by Allied Signal. There was an unofficial comparison test done in the late 90's (by a private individual) where various filters were cut open with the result that FRAM appeared to be the cheapest in terms of construction and materials. Their oil filters got a bad rap which continues (maybe unfairly) to this day. I've heard that these problems have since been resolved. Don't know about their air filters, but I personally stay away from FRAM when there are so many alternatives. MANN-HUMMELL bought out Purolator a while back. They took over their Purolator factories and changed the labeling and packaging of some Purolator filters to MANN. If you're buying an American-made MANN filter, chances are it's a Purolator, especially if it's for a Crossfire. If you want a good German filter, get a Mahle.
