Default One bright taillight, one dim

I have one bright taillight (right side) and one dim taillight on the left. Im assuming it's a bad connection? Gonna try and wire brush the metal on it. Also, any advice on how to get my balloon hands into the passenger headlight enclosure? I wanna take the radiator reservoir out but it is attached on the bottom. Help please!!!

Make sure that they are the proper bulbs, and installed correctly. These are tricky that way. There is a bulb very, very close in appearance, but incorrect in wattage/polarity. (The bright side may be using the brake lamp filament).

To move the reservoir I sprayed under it at the attachment fitting with WD40, let it soak for a minute then grabbed the reservoir and pulled straight up on it. It is held by a bayonet type of fitting. You then just move it out of the way. You have to give it a good yank.
The above info on the bulb being in the wrong way is correct, Max is never wrong. The wrong bulb and in the wrong way causes a lot of headaches.

I got advance to look it up and they gave me Sylvania long life 7528. Have two prongs on the sides. One higher than the other. I moved the bulb on the left to the right taillight and it was bright like it usually is. That's why I assumed it was the connection. What now?

I'm trying to post a picture. Brake lights on right side work when the brake is applied so the right one is in correctly. Bulb from left also worked correctly in the right taillight.

Could be a ground connection somewhere. Use a multimeter and measure ohms from the brown wire at the bulb connector to a known good ground point. Should read close to 0 ohms.
EDIT: in this case it appears the brown wire is NOT the ground wire, the BLACK wire is. Go figure.

Ok. I was wrong.

That makes twice.

The right bulb is either incorrect, or something is shorted, causing the light to come on like if you had the switch turned to the right rear fog lamp.
