Muffler delete question
If I cut the muffler out and weld the stock tips back on, will I have problems with back pressure? I heard it can mess your motor up. I want my car to be louder and I have found this to be the most interesting and tempting option but I do not want to cause any problems with it and the level of reliability it's at right now.
Bud,
you'll have better luck/response if you post questions in the closest-topic sub-forum:

Tires-tires
Lights-Lighting
Etcetera, etctera, etcetera...(from "The King and I". With Yul Brynner).

It doesn't matter what category it is in, I just check new posts - so I would have seen this if you put it in the correct location.
Anyway - to answer your question. Your stock tips are each on their own pipe (look under your muffler). You would have to figure out some type of "y" connection to get them back on there, as well as getting the bracket installed again to hold it up. I personally bought a cheaper "dual tip" muffler and had it installed. It sounds great, with no drone. I recently went to a local autocross event and my brother said it was a very distinct sound, he knew every time I started my lap.
It was a WickedFlow brand with rectangular tips if you want to look for it.
I don't think you will have back pressure issues, there are two sets of cats on this vehicle. In fact if you do a search, I believe there are members that have removed a set of cats and the muffler without issue.

No issues, I emptied my muffler before just removing it and adding ss dual pipes. WW

I have both rear cats and muffler deleted on my SRT for a couple of years now with no problems at all. Still have resonator in place for sound sake, and a X-pipe in place of the cats and H-pipe. Also welded a Wicked Flow tip on back....

I'm going to cut the muffler out and ride for a few days to see if I like it. I don't want it to sound like a gum wrapper with a motor strapped to it.
In this pic you can see part of the pipe I made to delete my muffler and use my stock tips.
The photo was not to show the tips obviously. I can take a better pic if you need it.

I have 3 pics of my setup from underneath-still on the ramp.
They are in my "User Gallery". I have no idea how to access them in a post/reply.
Take a look.

it's a "14" Magnaflow 11379:
MagnaFlow Exhaust Products - For Trucks, Suv's, American Muscle, Diesel, & Sport Compact Vehicles
$114.
He installed the H as an add-on for $0.
The interior of the Magnaflow is hollow between the bores. Pure crosstalk. An X-pipe to fit there would have doubled my outlay!

FYI - My X-pipe was pretty inexpensive, even for being stainless.... $37
