I didn't move the o-ring, so I'm lead to believe it either moved when replacing the housing or lost integrity, I don't know, it broke completely when removing it to replace with a new one. Either way, cars fine.

This is a car forum, for a specific model of vehicle, I came here not looking for approval, I could care less what some ***** who offer nothing but criticism rather than advice have to say about my "feelings", other members were rather helpful, one suggested brake cleaner for the belt, another even said he's done this himself. this is a collection of people with like vehicles sharing information about their cars, we are all here because we enjoy the cars we drive and would like to keep them running, some also like working on their own cars when they can, lets us get to know our vehicles even more. why would anyone here feel the need to try and put someone down for that? either way, I will continue to use this site as the resource it is, and well, ignore the rest.

not even sure why this became an issue of any concern.
