grand tourismo 4 is released in many places today, featuring, of course, the crossfire, the first car i intend to fully mod out. finally get to have a turbo crossfire, my dreams come true through video games. ebgames.com has 847 screen shots, there are two of the crossfire somewhere in the first 60 or so. don't know if anyone else cares, but this is a huge day for us car game freaks. no better simulator ever made than part 3, so just imagine part 4. to bad they didnt develop it for xbox, its so much more powerful that the grafix could have been ubelievable.........

 

Its definetely going to be cool. But I hope they dont do to the crossfire like they did to the audi TT 225 in GT3, They best i could get it to run in the 1/4 was low 16's LOL. And the best I could come up with on the z06 was low 13's. Funny how all the jap cars ran what they should have. I hope they fixed it.

 

I can't wait I am picking up my copy, that I have had on reserve for like 2 years now tomorrow morning. I can't wait to hit 60, and watch the spoiler pop up in the game....

Well once again it is what I feared, the game is anti domestic, the srt-4 runs a 15.5 and a camaro ss runs mid 14's. This is so lame, I'll buy forza for xbox. But the 350z runs mid 13
s and the evo MR runs high 12's.

You guys need to give the game a break. When you fully mod it try changing the gear ratios and you'll be running fast. Also testing on Arcade mode is not the same.

In GT3 i had the Quattro TT running 12's. The game is not only modding and racing. Tune your car. Tune it to accelerate fast (sacrafice top end).

Also I player Forza(Demo) last night while waiting for GT4 at EBGames and it sucked.

 

Ya a 550hp audi TT running 12's thats inaccurate. IF it takes only 415hp in a 911 to run 11's.

 

ok now for the real test how can we get our runs posted here so we can all compete against each other.

 

Very Simple...give us a track, the car, the level of mods, and give us a time to beat. I must say, somebody said that the Camaro SS cannot break 14 seconds in the quarter...I got my stock one to do it in 13.8sec! To do this, different launch techniques and a very precise ability to control the throttle are required.

 

yup, very true, if the srt is running 15.5, let the burnout go a little longer in first, should be able to get low 14's. fwd dynamics are very realistic, as are all other dynamics, you have to treat it like a real race. its not a game, its a simulator, the most accurate ever made probably.....

 

Yeah I have been messing around with it, and the crossfire runs slower than it is above 70mph, but hey the spoiler works, and it looks sweet... added a pic of my GT4 Crossfire at the grand canyon.. to my album...

I never tested the SS just what I heard. My crossfire went 14.8@95 Now my 300hp N/A on stock tires and transmission, i got stage 2 n/a, chip, and racing exhaust, racing flywheel, 3plate clutch, carbon driveshaft, and stage 1 weight reduction. Ran a 12.9@110 :-D if the crossfire was like this lol that would be awsome. I dont think you can give the XF Fi in this. anywho on the bottle i got the XF at 11.7@128 still on stock tires.

Okay for the srt-4 I'll give some one mad props if they can get into the 14's. The best i have been able to do is 15.0@98.

One thing i have noticed is the gearing is off big time, my crossfire is hitting 60 in mid range 2nd Gear LOL. and the srt-4 has to shift into to 5th at 94. I can hit 94 in 3rd in my srt-4.

You are young; I started with Magnavox Odyssey, prior to pong. Still have it.
Real collectors item now. Hard to find a 21" TV to put the game acetates over the screen. Had to keep your own score--I'm good at adding now.
