Unhappy Paint Code?

Well, I got the first paint chip today. There is small nick in the front spoiler. Does anyone where the paint code might be on the car. My Pontiac had it in the trunk, very easy to find. And, has anyone purchased touch up paint for their car..does the dealer even stock it?

Thanks,
John

the dealer usually stocks factory touch-up paint....if not they can order it. you can tell the parts department the name of the color and they can reference it.

I checked both doors and jams, glove box, under the hood, and under the cover in the hatch...never did locate the paint code. I did, however, find the tire kit so it wasn't a total lost effort. Be aware that there may be more than one shade of your color. Mine is Graphite and there are two shades...
Of course, the ppg paint store was not aware of that and sold me the wrong one.

Eldon;
Thanks for checking. Andrew I am aware the dealer sells the paint; however, they always ask for the paint code. I will check with the dealer tomorrow, and if I can obtain all the codes from the dealer I will post them.

Hey Eldon...did you happen to find the mystery tool too? I found mine after a year in one of those pouches behind the seats.

Cyril, by mystery tool, do you mean a black wrench about nine inches long? I found one of those under the drivers floor mat.
By the way , whats the wrench used for?

According to the service manual, the Body Code plate is located in the engine compartment on top of the right frame rail. I remember this being discussed a while back, and at the time I looked and could not find any such plate on mine. There's too many engine components in the way.

If you look at this site and enter the year/make you need, it will show both code and colors. I think 2004 Chryslers had 4 pages of color chips..
