crossfires owners group
I'm interested in who owns their crossfire, IE paid for not leased or making payments. I will start the list.

Actually I have never financed or leased, a car in my life. I had saved for two years to buy a new Mini cooper but the dealer in san diego was marking them up 15%. 36k for the one I wanted. So I waited then the mustang came out, but couldn't commit to that, once I drove the Crossfire. My fate had been chosen.

Not to get into an argument here but leasing may save you a few dollars up front. What do you have to show for it at the end of the lease? In the long run, buying the car can be more profitable if you hold onto it and sell it in the end. You know, like renting versus buying a house. Leasing you have nothing. Unless you absolutely need a new vehicle every few years and you always have a lease payment, IMO buying is the way to go... unless it's a business lease.
New York...Isn't it great. Most of the manufacturers have done away with leases as in NY as the leasor can be held responsible for damages or injuries incurred by the leasee. So we have Smartbuy or whatever they want to call it. The catch is you must pay sales tax on the full price of the vehicle even if it's only a two year lease. Before, with true leases, only the lease payment was taxable. The result is the consumer pays more and the state digs their hand deeper in our pockets. This stinks.

Paid cash Jan 20, 2005. Dealer gave me the 7yr 85,000 Bumper to Bumper warranty with free towing and loaner car. Plan on keeping the car as long as it is under warranty. Here in San Diego XFIRE owners are acknowledging each other with a wave.
