crossfires owners group
July 2007 Paid cash.
I paid cash for my last three cars and the last two houses. Things cost a lot less without the interest. When I bought my Turbo S. Bug, my wife and I walked in with a paper bag full of cash. We offered no explanation and they seemed afraid to ask. I think they thought we were drug dealers. We got great service. We don't have a lot of money. But if you always pay cash and do not finance things you don't need as much.

Leased in July of 05. car looks better than when it was new. I am in the process of getting financing to buy it. Residual is around 14k. Car has 7100 miles on it.

Irafatsar purchase date 1/20/05 paid CASH
Actually I have never financed or leased, a car in my life. I had saved for two years to buy a new Mini cooper but the dealer in san diego was marking them up 15%. 36k for the one I wanted. So I waited then the mustang came out, but couldn't commit to that, once I drove the Crossfire. My fate had been chosen.

If people are paying for their cars on time, they have every right to call them selves an owner. I paid cash for mine as well after a trade in of my G35 Coupe.
I paid cash for mine.
Cash $21,000 , bought November 2007, 05 roadster, 5,000 miles, certified. Added $1,300 to extend the 8 year 80,000 mile warranty to bumper to bumper. I'm good until April of 2014.
Nice to know we got some well heeled folks who can pay cash for their cars.
Paid cash for some of my cars, financed most at one time or another. Never noticed a difference in the way they drive, if financed vrs paid for, or how long I keep them.
My Xfire is financed 0% down with the loan payments totaling $33,000 on a sticker of $40.000. I figure Chrysler paid the interest. Kept the money in my business and was able to make it grow. The business will earn me more now. Car won"t earn me a dime.
Paid for or financed it is all about managing cash.

as far as the dealer is concerned, bought and paid for in april 2008... but my damn banks keeps calling me every month wanting a $250/month payment... haven't quite figured out why yet... hmmm...
i was a first time NEW car buyer when i bought the xfire... but luckily i know how to haggle... $19,800 out the door after TTL. I'll take it... oh wait, they practically gave me that price to begin with haha.
honestly there is no difference in the way a car buyer treats his cash car v. his financed car. i would still baby it whether i paid cash or financed. no difference.

The major problem is first it's the Detroit area, you don't wave and second there are a lot of Xfs around. I live in a small city and there are 4-6 here I know of. The city manager drives a yellow roadster, another one parked at a business near by everyday. The only color I don't see is Oyster. I sold my husbands Vet and we got the XF, never looked back, we love MY car
Paid full sticker in Dec '03. Financed what was left after trading in a '99 Continental. If you really wanted to cry about cars losing value, the Continental would do it for you. From 41K to 15K in 3 years. Loved that road hippo. Cruised great, trunk big enough to sleep in, more cup holders than you could possibly use, better seats than my sofa at home, front wheel drive would go in snow, but the Crossfire was calling to me. Financed the Crossfire at 1%. Why not use their money?
