Talking Pulled a McGuyver yesterday...

I just bought this car last month with 13.8K on it and in the course of the last 1500 miles
I have had to replace the Crank sensor and just yesterday, the Relay sensor went in a clients driveway.
Funny thing, the client was a retired Mercedes mechanic, I asked him if he had a soldering iron, and he did.
Popped the hood, removed the module, went into the garage and did the repair in under 5 minutes, all the while the guy
was in awe that it could be diaged from the seat of my pants, be right about the problem and repair, and leave his home with
a perfectly functioning car. I think I nailed a client for life with that move.

FWIW, I do mobile electronic repair, computers, TV, etc.

These cars are a trip. My Roadster NEVER had any mechanical issue, but had every damn body issue. This car has no body type issues, but is being a mechanical PITA. Still love them though....

I would not be too sure that you resolved the RCM problem though, time will tell. What were the symptoms that led you to believe it was at fault?
You do repairs but you did not have a soldering iron with you? Tut Tut!

All electronic lit up, no start on the car.

Pulled RCM, soldered the places that are shown in
the pictures here, placed back in vehicle and it fired right back up.

What other info did I miss? Why the "time will tell"?

I have a large soldering station on my work bench. i dont make it mobile.
I am also certified in several forms of welding and pretty much can Identify a badly soldered item.

Well I guess you do not need my opinion then.

You do repairs but you did not have a soldering iron with you? Tut Tut!

I can always appreciate a well formed opinion or suggestion.
from the quote you have above, you seem to imply that there is somewhat of an issue,
without actually providing anything but a snippy response and a snarky follow up.

I appreciate all that you do here. But in all frankness, the response as it is here is
looks like what a millennial would say, not someone with the maturity of 78 years young.

Your need to chastise me with the tut, tut comment and follow up snarkyness is fine.
I have thick skin. I DO feel its detrimental to the sharing of info and makes people feel
less useful here.

I wanted to contribute and share on this site. I will keep my opinions and ideas to myself.

Sincerely, Thank You.

You obviously go out of your way to try and find something negative about anything. My Tut Tut was followed by a wink (), meaning I was kidding you.
You never really said what the problem was until your second post and then you never explained fully what occurred, hence my comment.
You then on and said what an expert you were, hence my second statement.
Now you are having a hissy fit and say we will not get the benefit of your knowledge, I think you are a bit thin skinned.
You do mobile repairs on electronics etc but you do not have a soldering iron on the job, well I guess if it works for you.
There are more reasons for the car 'Not starting' the RCM being just one reason among many. Often the car will randomly fail to start and the reason is often hard to find unless the symptoms are fully noted.
