Default Performance in snow

Thinking about buying a Crossfire coupe. How does this car perform in the snow? Live in the DC metro area. Thanks.

Ask Bullseye, he had lots of experience with the car in snow.

I drive the crossfire pretty much solely in the winter now. I have 17 in rims on front and back with Blizzak winter only tires. If interested i have a video of me ripping through over 6 inches of snow. However don't stop on an uphill with that much snow. You will get stuck, luckily i tested this out in my driveway so it wasn't that bad. Over all I think even with the Blizzak tires the crossfire isn't that great. It reminds me of my Mustang GT's with the stock goodyear gatorbacks, and those are supposedly summer tires. The only good thing is the over reactive traction control. Helps at time and annoys at others. Back to the issue. Under 5 inches = no problem with winter set-up. 6 and inches your pushing it. And anything over 8 inches call into work.

Bullseye,

Thanks for your quick response on my question re: snow performance...I had an RX-7 in the 80's and had it outfitted w/ snow tires and threw sandbags in the trunk, it still wasn't all that great in the snow...I don't want to repeat that situation...

I really appreciate your candor.

And, yet, I still

I had a quest in the 90's and it was bad in snow - I suspect the Xfire will be the same. My solution is to have a ride pool with someone who has an SUV. I drive when its dry and she drives when it snows.

Thanks RickB, I appreciate your comments. S/w the dealer today, who said that like other performance cars, it's not good in the snow, as I'd expected and as another member confirmed. One of the sales guys suggested a gyroscopic stabilizer -- he had used one in a Triumph...still thinking about it, but work situation isn't conducive to carpooling and my other car is a bicycle...

Thanks Epyon. You were right, Bullseye provided a lot of good insight into this challenge to the Xfire's performance.
