Default Foggy front headlamps

It looks like I have found two Crossfires that I am interested in but both have this foggy film on the headlamp glass.

Is this normal? Can these be restored by cleaning or do they have to be replaced? Do they come as one whole headlight assembly or can the glass be replaced?

Thanks

$400 each - from auto salvage yards.

If the filth is on the outside, I find that 1500 grit wet sandpaper followed by Mequiar's PlastX does the job nicely.

There are threads here about various methods and products used to clean them up - I wish I could find the thread that I used for instruction.... took me about an hour to finish mine.
Total cost was around $20 for PLastx and sandpaper.

The "glass" is plastic. No it, of itself, can't be replaced. It is part of the whole, so the enter headlight assembly must be replaced as an unit. HOWEVER, that is not necessary. They headlights are easily cleaned and polished. Most auto parts stores sell kits for the job and there is even a method to clean the inside of the headlight assembly, but that requires the assembly be removed from the car. Use the search box at the top right of the forum page to search. You will find many threads on the subject.
If that is the only problem you have. It is a minor affair easily brought back to like new appearance.

Sandpaper? Wet and dry paper uses carborundum at least.
Sandpaper uses sand funnily enough - sand of various size grit sizes and does not take well to water. Sand and water belongs on the beach.😜

Restoring the headlamps is easy and, although the misting may look as if it is on the inside, it is generally not (on a most cars). I did my Crossfire a month or two ago with the "headlight restoration system" product in the attached photo. I also used it last week to do a friends PT Cruiser's lights. You need an electric drill, the kit, some water, a sponge/cloth and about an hour of time. There are a lot of kits like this for $20 - $30 (mine was UK £25), and they do a good job and will do 2 or 3 pairs of lights. Hope this helps.
