need ignition help
I have a 2006 base coupe i got the car and the previous owner lost all keys after transferring into my name. i feel for the ebay used key ignition switch and immobilizer. took the car to the Chrysler Dealership because they had the only dbr3 in the area . they told me that it couldn't be programmed to the ecu and my only option is to replace the key, ignition switch, the immobilizer ( still have the original, they wouldn't reinstall) and the ecu at $1600+ the original ignition switch was cut to remove by a automotive electrical shop. I really can't afford 1600 i am on Social Security . Do i have any options. Sorry if there are other posts on this problem I couldn't find them. If i could afford the parts the dealer said they would not be available untill after Feburary 28th.
Its a 6 speed.

Find one at a junk yard that has at least one key in it.
Get the key, ignition assembly, SKREEM module and the ECM/PTCM module.
There are enough how-to's on here that you should be able to swap all of it yourself.
DO NOT TAKE TO A DEALER !!!!!!

If it's an automatic you can find the fob, skrem, ecm set for about $500 on Ebay
The idea is to transplant the identify of the car to another You need the vin of the key/fob to match the vin of the skreem and the vin of the Skreem to match the vin of the ECM make sure that if your is an automatic that the Ebay set is for an automatic. The short of it is that you've entered the Crossfire/Mercedes Skreem hell.

Or you could call SOS or MDP and see what they could do for you? You have to take the parts out anyway. My understanding is they can make keys for about 300.00.
bring up a old thread but I found a auto car that needs a ignition switch so I am at a loss on what to do. I will call the places mentioned on monday and report back. thanks
