Default Radio blues!

I like my radio and am satisfied with it. However the volume control is worn out. If you touch it it will blast and hard to reduce volume. Is there a direct fit replacement radio for the Crossfire? How about radios from other Chrysler vehicles? I ordered the tool to remove the radio and will try and replace the volume control. Might try some potentiometer spray/lube if I can get it inside the volume pot.

ANY single DIN aftermarket product will fit. You can order the adapter cable kit, or, like I did, wire it in directly.
My JVC head was $85 and makes the factory radio sound horrible -mostly cause it does sound horrible.

Also, I wired my car for four channel sound, like they should have done at the factory.....

I'm not much of a music lover/listener. Most of the time I'm only listening to talk radio. The sound is just fine but like the controls to work as designed. Will any single din radio fill the opening like the original radio and lock in the same way?

They all fit - but they lock in, in very different ways.
Each radio will come with adapters/keys/etc. to make it work - the opening size is standard thruout the industry. I highly recommend JVC and Kenwood units but that's just me.

Both of the aftermarket radios I have purchased one a single DIN and the other a double DIN came with frames that fit into the Crossfires pocket to make the radios fit.
I do not know if all the aftermarket radios are like that. pizzaguy?

It appears they all are that way, these days. I can't say for sure, but every one I've messed with came with it's own "cage" or "frame" that you put in the cavity and secured in place first - then you slide the radio into it.

My Kenwood single DIN frame just slid in and locked into place, I suspect the Kenwood double DIN frame would have done the same if it had been placed in a double DIN cavity. I just screwed it into place though.
