Default a cure for the annoying rattles? HELP

Anyone have a cure for the very annoying rattles that originate from the seatbelt or 1/4 glass area? (it's driving me nuts)... It sounds like brittle plastic being bent right behind my ear. The car only has 200 miles on it is it going to get worse?

Thanks in advance for any help or info.

...My (rear) license plate and frame had a rattle, and I fixed it by putting on a small piece of double sided tape between the plate and the frame, and a 1/4" wide strip of foam insulation between the plate and the bumper. Now, here is not one rattle coming from the rear of the car. That's about what I would expect for a German built sports car.

I have the same! It's really annoying especially when it's getting warm. My mechanic has no info about that. It's definitely coming from the seatbelt housing because I put my fingers in and joggled it. The inner housing rubs against the outer. Soon I'm gonna take my mechanic for a ride and we try to solve that. When my hatch lock replacement arrives...

The problem you describe requires the replacement of the rivet holding the upper part of the trim piece attached to the rear quarter window with a screw and nut. The procedure is covered in TSB 23-001-05 issued 1/8/05. I just had mine done and it solved the problem completely!

Good luck.

Hmmm...I have the same noise in mine which I thought was coming from my subwoofer pods. Sounds like a piece of cellophane plastic vibrating.

Thanks Steve! That rattle has been irritating me for ages!

My car went in last week to have it repaired and I told them it was coming from the seatbelt housing. They claimed to have fixed it but it was still there...actually even worse.

Brought them this thread after reading it, they did as per TSB and...SORTED! No more rattle.

Thanks again.

My God do I hope this works. 3 times my car has been in for this, even taking the mechanic for a drive. They tried putting silicone around it, no help. It is driving me CRAZY!!!

I will take it in after the wedding and see what happens.
