OK, I got everything hooked up but I get no sound. So I'm guessing I have the amp wire not hooked up correctly. Please if anyone knows which wire on this harness and which wire on the Kenwood KVT-M700 would allow me to use my factory amp I would greatly appreciate it.

Kenwood usually uses a blue wire as the signal power on wire. I think the factory harness wire was pink, i am not sure i did it about 3 weeks ago.

Okay... you have the VW wiring harness, right? just connect up all the wires to the leads to your Kenwood deck. Anything that doesn't match, don't stress... its cool.

On the VW instructions it says to not connect the amp turn on lead but you DO have to connect this to whatever your Kenwood uses for the amp turn on lead. I'm not much for colors, just whatever the schematic says.

Here's the link to DFWSBR's instructions, he pretty much covers it all.

Link here

As far as the screen over ride goes, I think you usually have to tie them into the E-brake but I don't know if it needs 12 volts or ground. It sounds like it needs a ground, if that's the case just tie it in with the ground with in the VW harness.

I'm trying to post another picture but it's not letting me... anyhow the amp is four channels, two front and two rear.

yes what cyber greg said about the wires, but the factory amp is 2 channels just right front and left front.
The subs are wired to the factory amp so you don't need to do anything there.

oops my bad... of course its only 2 channels... we only run left and right out of the head unit... I believe the amp has a built-in crossover for the subs so it looks like it has 4 channels or rather 4 outputs.

damn it... still can't post the schematic... oh well I will eventually...

I would LOVE to see some photos, especially some screen shots of the GUI on the m700. There isn't a better lcd head unit in terms of matching the interior look than that one.
