Default Removing CROSSFIRE emblem??? Chime in!

Greetings everyone, I've had my X-fire for about 3 weeks now, and already actively modding quite a bit. I love to tinker! I'm toying with the idea of removing the CROSSFIRE letters from the trunk. Seems too busy IMO. Just wondering from others who have done this, the safest route for the paint, and also the reason you personally removed it, and if you are still happy with the choice?

I was also wondering fi perhaps anyone has taken those letters and made the CROSSFIRE word under the wing? Visible only when engaged. CHeers.

So far I have:
1. Replaced my grill
2. Hash Stripes
3. Black wheels
4. Lamin-X all lights with smoke tint
5. Powered by Mercedes emblem lower panels.

Very carefully ! heat the letters and use heavy dental floss with a sawing motion between the letters and glue There's a video on youtube

Welcome Jasonk931. You came to the right place. I second dcskmail's suggestion. That is the best way to do it. I've done that with other car emblems.

Depending on the amount of time the car has been in the sun the paint may have faded. The paint under the letters could be slightly darker and visible with the letters removed.

I would use a heat gun to warm the adhesive and then use a plastic prying tool like found in a set of interior trim removal tools to gently pry the letters off. I just did this to replace the Ford emblem on my F-150's tailgate. Worked perfectly. Only had to warm up the left over adhesive to remove it from the painted surface. I have a
plastic razor blade scraper"><span style=plastic razor blade scraper" /> plastic razor blade scraper">plastic razor blade scraper
for doing this type of stuff. Bought it off Amazon. Make sure to get one with the plastic razor blades if you're interested. Won't damage the painted surface.

I de-badged my SRT6 a few years back.

Heat slightly with heat gun.
Use dental floss and a sawing motion to remove.
Use an eraser attachment for a drill to remove the excess adhesive:
Amazon Amazon
Clean and wax.

Good luck.

Use the dental floss, a hot day is just as good as a heat gun if your car is a darker colour. Do not scrape anything over the paint, a little bit of hidden gravel will ruin your day.
Remove any remaining glue with Goo Gone or something similar.

Also,

I made templates with paper before I removed to mark the locations so that I could re-install in the factory location. I stored the emblems and the templates in a zip lock bag.

Busy is when a roadster has the OEM Crossfire letters, a license plate with Crossfire on it and Crossfire written on the wind deflector behind the seats.
If that is not enough then you could add on the sides, Special Edition, Powered by Mercedes, slasher stripes and the Karmann decal.

Hey guys, a good warm day yesterday and a smooth guitar pick worked wonders. The previous owner had tried to secure one of the letters using SUPERGLUE!!! Ugggh! I took my time and cleaned it off and wet sanding and polishing back to gloss. Looks great and I even love the ghost effect of the word Crossfire in the paint when at the right angle.

I know a little while back someone was looking for one of those letters. If you decide on selling them.

My “R” was like a loose tooth ready to fall out so I removed it before loosing it. My question is what is recommended for putting it back on to OEM standards?
