Thumbs up Re: need exhaust work, any suggestions??

I'm VERY happy with my Magnaflow, as are many of the members here. I haven't heard the Borla, but I can tell you this, the Magnaflow makes the car sound like a V8! Its the best $110 I ever spent on a car mod.

hmm. checked the borla website. it sounds pretty good, but looks a bit goofy. not quite sure about that $800.00 price tag either. will have to take a closer look at the magna-flow.

thanks for the advice guys, much appreciated. when i first got my car a year ago, there wasn't much out there, glad to see that's changing...although if anyone could turn me on to a bentley style billet grille, i would be a happy camper. =P

Had a very minor rear ender that required replacement of the rear bumper and the exhaust system. Had the "mopar" Borla exhaust installed as a replacement. The sound is much deeper than before. For some it may be too much. At lower RPM, say up to 3k its pretty loud, after that it quiets right down. As for performance increase, can't really tell. I would not have or recommend spending $700+ to replace a perfectly good stock exhaust with this, one unless you really want to hear the car but it was cool to get for free (insurance).

Any sound clips?

I would much appreciate some clips from anywhere relating to the Crossfire's exhaust.

Thanks!

borla's website gives an audio option, which is what sold me on it (haven't got it yet, but next paycheck, its a done deal).

the magnaflow was too obnoxious for me.

Obnoxious as in to loud?

I couldn't find a sound clip of the Crossfire, only Sport Compact (most likely 4 cyl), V8 Muscle and Truck?

i put a flowmaster muffler on mine. didn't opt for an entire exhaust replacement. it still made quite a difference. it kind of reminds me of what my camaro used to sound like. it only cost $169 with shipping and install. the 2 chamber is better then the 4.

Ok, I think this is where you can tell the younger owners from the older owners. I think the stock exhausts (stainless steel by the way) has an awesome growl to it. This some times is unusual for a stock exhaust. I wouldn't really want it any louder. Also what would this do to your warranty if something goes wrong with your engine. I think you would be USC w/o a paddle.

University of Southern California without a paddle? Hey Nappa, tell the youngsters what USC really stands for.

Magnaflow #14220 and it sound AWESOME! I paid $109.00 for this stainless steel muffler and it sounds like its got a small V8. Its the best mod for the money I've ever done to a car, period!
