I have an 05' that I have had for about 12 months of a 39 month lease. I am considering terminating the lease early and was wondering what it might cost me to do so.
According to the lease paperwork, I would have to pay the remainder of the 27 monthly payments less the unearned rent charge calculated on a constant yield basis. Can someone explain what this means in plain english?

 

i believe it means that you have to pay the rest of what you owe minus the current months days. meaning if you pay $100 a month at 27 months you owe $2,700, and if you have had the car say 15 days out of this month they will credit the unused days back to you. which would be $50. therefore, you would owe $2,650, plus any dealer fees that they may hit you with to end your lease now. hope that makes it a little simpler.

 

I would consider www.swapalease.com as an option. I've never done this but I do visit and look at the site from time to time.
