Accident
aschrager - The person's insurance company that hit you owes you much $$$money$$$ for"Diminished Value." But you got to let his/her insurance company know you are asking for it. It's good money so don't forget to ask, and don't let his/her insurance company tell you they don't pay Diminished Value.
Go Back And Get Your Money They Owe You, Do It ASP. It'll be a percent of the 13k that was spent repairing the Crossfire, if not all of it. Afterwards I'll take ten per cent for turning you onto Diminished Value (but I won't hold my breath, just joking). My wife had a wreck with her Chevy Tracker and the insurance company (of the lady that hit her) is ready to write the check as I type. Just not agreed on an amount yet.
FYI, hooah?

I have all ready checked into Diminished value. I found out that in NJ it has never been done. But I am still going for it. 5K in my pocket sounds good.
Well I went over the car today with a fine tooth comb. If you didn't know it was in a accident you wouldn't be able to tell. They really did a great job. I think I should go back to the body shop and give the technician that did all of the work a tip.

Yep, now days you take a car to a top notch body shop and most times it comes back looking just as good as new. Matching paint is much much easier than it used to be.
If you do tip, be sure to take a wad of cash, a lot more than one technician worked on your car. Me, I'd just let it go or maybe write the shop a nice note. Tipping, naw, they made a descent profit on your repair in the markup of parts alone.

Only one Tech. did all the body work and another painted it. I thanked both of them yesterday and told the owner what a great job. He said tell your friends.

To that you also have to add a rental car for 64 days. Another $1,800.00.
The est. was only $9,500 for the repair. There was a lot of hidden damage. But they were committed to the repair by then.
They did a great job. You can't tell that the car was ever in a accident.
