This 2004 Coupe 6 speed came with some odd chrome rims that just seemed outdated (you can see the old ones in the alabaster section of the gallery under my name). I bought new tires for it not long ago and they found that one of the rear wheels was bent. I thought the new tires with balancing would have fixed the vibrations but no. I’ve been wanting to sell it but didn’t think it would be good to have a bent wheel on it. Financially, probably not a great decision, but I just like things to work right. I went with black rims and they do look good! This is a California car and it will be going up for sale if anyone is interested. I’ll put it on the for sale section after I do a couple more things to it. Take a look!

What brand and style are your new rims?
Did you stay with stock size rims and tires?
You know, I just went in the local independent tire shop and looked on the wall and said can you get me something like that to fit my Xfire? I wanted original sizes and offsets. He looked and said these are the only ones he could get with the sizes and offsets I needed. I really like them… Here are some pictures from one of the boxes. This one is the 18”. If anyone wants the 19” number let me know and I’ll post it too.
Very Nice! Although I really like the OEM wheels with the silver strakes and some slash decals, you have me wondering how these would look on my red '04 Coupe. It might even be worth considering black paint or vinyl on the strakes and swapping out the silver slashes for black ones. I'll have to see if I can find an AI Photo Shop type simulator that allows a tech challenged geezer to play around with it. Any of you young Wizards out there have suggestions? The black wheels certainly look a lot more contemporary and seem to slim the whole profile down to a sleeker look.

I agree, it does give it a more modern look. I think black would look good on your car. If you did the vinyl paint it would give you a good way to see the effect and peel it off later.

Black rims look really good on your Alabaster Coupe.

So, here are a couple of renderings with the wheels and black trim on my steed. I don't really like it as much as I thought I would. Opinions?
Yeah, the more I look at it, the better I like it. I think the windshield trim would actually look better than it was rendered in the photo. It looks too matte and a little out of position. Having looked at the prices for the wheels however, I don't think I will be doing it any time soon!
