Default HELP! Hit Pot Hole need two NEW RIMS and TIRES!

I am sick! Hit a pot hole on the shoulder of the road...couldn't stop due to traffic and was only a block or so from my work. I had the car towed to the tire place...rims are bent...new tires needed on passenger side. Estimate, $1000!!!! Help..what to do? Options for new rims? I'm soooo upset!

Golfer gal,

Lets make lemons out of lemonade here! Sorry to hear about your rims but you may be able to put some new golf shoes on your baby? Waddaya think the Mandrus are really sweet and there are several other uptions out there...

But if you want to stay stock there is a guy selling some that has yet to get me a shipping price.

Do a search on rims for sale and you may find a few options out there.

Nate

Unfortunately, a lot of XFs have been wrecked this year, Do a google search for Crossfire rims. You might also find some for sale by owners who decided on aftermarket rims. Check the forum index for the "for sale" section and input a WTB (want to buy) subject.

sorry for your mishap, but be very careful with buying used rims especially off of older cars. you need to look out for curb rash, damage from tire removal, chipping and worn clear coats and improperly removed counter weights .these are just some of the more important things to look for. really i am so sorry this happened to you. good luck and good searching.

Thanks for the tips. I am a complete novice at any of this and my husband is so busy with work, he would prefer that I do the homework on getting this fixed. Sooooo...I am looking on ebay and found a few rims. Thanks, to FP...I may make an offer, but I'll be sure to ask the seller about the weights and curb rash and the chipping. Excellent advice and thanks for your sympathy! I appreciate it!!!!

Golfergal - Bad news regarding the wheels/tires, but the good news is that you still have your X-Fire and are alive and kicking on the forum.

Since we haven't heard from you for awhile, we assumed that you hit the lotto and moved to Maui.

Welcome back!

I've been lurking for a long time. I'm certainly grateful for the forum members who are always quick to lend their advice. I'm going to order the rims through my local Les Shawub. It was a decent price and I'm happy with their service. I went with the all weather GY tires. I'm tired of having my car undriveable with a little bit of snow or inclimate weather. Did my research and got a good price....thanks all!
