Winter
I'll be driving mine unless there is actually snow on the road. I'll either carpool with my wife (Toyota 4-Runner) or if I can swing it, I'm trying to pick up a used pickup for really bad weather.

i went through a NY winter last year with it. its my only car as well, and she does alright. one time i did get stuck, i let some air pressure out of the rears and drove home. i will admit there were a couple of days i "worked from home" ... i'll expect to do the same this year too.
I'm lucky enough to work less than a mile from home. It takes me less time to walk than drive. My car will sit in the garage until the streets are clear. Did the same with my PT's the last 4 years.

It is the crossfire or the motorcycle, so in the winter it is the crossfire for sure. I was going to keep my old saturn as a winter beater but the insurance and poor parking at my home made me sell it.
If it snows too bad, oh well I'll stay home.

My baby will be parked as soon as the snow really starts to fly. We have possible two inches coming tm.
New England winter is not the place for sports cars. Luckily I have a beater work car to drive.

Went through a New England winter last year-walked home when I could not get up into the hills where I live though. Plan on snow tires this time around-worst days will catch a ride with my wife in her Jeep.
I've had the joy of an unplanned departure from the road in my '98 camaro (No limited slip or traction control while mountain driving in AZ)... I'd like to avoid it in the crossfire. I've been through one winter here and there was only one morning that I would have been SOL with the crossfire. I have the continental tires, will some weight in the back improve things for mild/slushy conditions? How much weight would anyone recommend? I cant afford another set of wheels right now (unless its a really good deal)... So I don't think I'm going to go for snow tires.
My ideal solution would be to balance my car by picking up a Hummer (H1 of course) for winter. I'll have to wait till I hit it big in Atlantic City for that though...

RWD are fun in the winter if you know how to drive...it's the others out there you have to be careful of. My last car '98 Stang made it through several winters when I lived in MI. Now that I live in OH the drivers here are much worse (my opinion) so I'll have to slow it down and try not to get involved in any accidents. My Xfire is my only vehicle for now so I'll see how it does in the winter. I will have to upgrade the tires though to winter tires (a must for driving in the winter).
I may be one of the more northerly Crossfire owners on this forum... I live in Ottawa, Canada. I've had my Crossfire for about a month (and absolutely love it by the way). Anyway, I plan on driving my Crossfire until they start salting the roads here, and after that will keep the car in an unheated garage. While my car is parked over the winter, I'll be using public transit to get to work. I have another car but my wife is a stay-at-home Mom and needs that car during the day.
