Default Red (Cedar) Interior

Is the red (cedar) interior found in more 6-speed cars than cars with autosticks? That is what I seemingly find when I look around the country at XFires for sale.

I don't think there is any pattern one way or the other. Mine is an autostick roadster and thats the way I factory ordered it.

You definitely hit on one key...placing a factory order. That ought to get you what you want. What is the exterior color of your car? Thanks.

The vanilla and cedar are amazing interior combinations. I have always wanted to see a actual RED interior, similar to the Mamba Viper.

My exterior color is Black with a Black convertible top. It is a beautiful color combo, but if I had it to do all over again (knowing how little I use the car and how the black shows all the dust) I'd get the Alabaster White and the vanilla and dark grey interior. That will be the collector color to have. I've had numerous white cars so I swore I wouldn't buy another and the vanilla interior I thought would be nuts to keep clean, but IMO thats the keeper color combo to have, but not as a daily driver.

When it comes to interiors, at least with the Mercedes SLK, the door panels, dash panels and seats can be swapped out. My interior was originally all grey but I wanted more red to match the outside body. I was able to replace the side airbag covers that are in the door panels as well as the leather covers on the seats for the look that I wanted. The XFire being based on the SLK may do the same.

I even installed some XFire parts in my SLK. Notice the gauge cluster and the AC Heater controls.

I had the Cedar in my autostick Limited coupe. Black exterior.

While I was going through my lemon issues... I wanted an exact replacement. They couldn't find that combo so they bought me out.

I wish my SRT had the Cedar option. The 'pseudo suede' is really nice though.

I think the Limited with black exterior and cedar interior would be my favorite. Either coupe or roadster with an autostick.

I owned a 2000 Mazda Millenia Millenium Edition that had full "suede" seats. They were truly nice. I believe that every person that sat in the car commented on the suede seats.

Speaking of the SLKs, I wonder how Chrysler managed to get the side strakes approved for the Crossfire? After all, the side strakes are found on the more expensive Mercedes SL models and not on the SLK models.

I have a '04 Coupe, Graphite with Cedar/Red interior and auto/stick, and I love the color combination, along with every passersby.

The attached link (click on it) has exactly what you are requesting. This company in Germany was the original supplier of the colors to the Karmann factory during the manufacturing process of all Crossfires. I've ordered paint for my SRT6 in the past and it matched perfectly.

I've looked at them before. I am wondering if there is an actual paint code for the Cedar Red, though? I have an entire set of interior plastics I would like to re-paint, and the cost at 100ml at a time plus shipping from Germany, is just too much for that level of project.

Internet search found it. Cedar Red = ARK

Look at my post above (click on the attached link), the supplier from Germany has a current supply of ALL interior colors, since they supplied the colors to the Karmann factory at the time the Crossfires were manufactured.
The Crossfire colors are located on this site as well, interior and exterior with the codes.

Dennis, thanks. I did see it, but at roughly $60 for 100ml, I'd need a bank loan to do a whole interior! If I was trying to only repair a scratch or a worn section, I'd do that. Since I will do the whole set of red pieces, it can be a close, but not perfect match, and still be OK.
