Crossfire hood on the Durango?!
Crossfire hood on the Durango?!
My buddy who works at the GM Tech Center sent me a pic of the new Chrysler Aspen (Dodge Durango with Chrysler styling cues) and it has our hood on it, I guess the styling will live on after the Crossfire is no more. On a side note, I don't get the "cross breeding", I thought GM cornered the market on those things. If someone is looking for an upscale Chrysler SUV, wouldn't they just get a Jeep Grand Cherokee or that new one, the Commander? BTW, I'm sorry I didn't save the pics, I had a "brain fart" guys but ,maybe someone else can post them for us.

Re: Crossfire hood on the Durango?!
I swear I've seen that mug before. Oh wait, it looks like the latest gen Explorer with a few streaks stamped into the hood!
I swear, there seems to be a distinct lack of original thinking when it comes to the bulk of sports utility vehicles. This one looks like an Explorer to me, the nose of the Explorer looks just like every BuddyL truck I played with as a kid, and the latest Chevy Tahoe looks like offspring of the previous Chevy Tahoe and the Stay Puff Marshmallow Man. Even the latest Range Rovers and Land Rovers look like folding cartons with the headlights drawn on them. Maybe I am just not a sports ute type of guy. When I have kids, I am getting a sedan. After all, the $30-50K that a typically loaded sports ute commands buys an awfully good sedan.

It seems most on here are not fans of SUVs and they are not for everyone but then again neither are Crossfires. They both are great vehicles for their market.

They will sell, maybe not in huge numbers, but they will sell. DC makes a minor investment using an existing very capable platform add some more accessories and chrome and charge a premium over the Durango. Even at that premium the pricing will beat anything Cadillac, Lincoln and some foreign makes charge and people will buy them.
