Hello, I have a leased x-Fire, I paid for 45K miles to start. I'm at 22K, and 16 months into lease, so I'm a bit ahead of my planned miles, I think I might up with 50K instead ...wanted to know how other people fared in their lease (where they over the miles?) and if they paid for more miles ahead of schedule to save money later.

I have never leased so this may be a dumb question...

Don't most leases run a minimum of 36 months?

If so, keep in mind the Crossfire has only been on the market since June 2003. That would mean no one has reached the end of their 36 month lease yet.

Well, then, how about a status check on leasees? Are you presently over/under/or on target in your lease? And have you paid for extra miles if it looked like you were going over?

 

i'm on target. 39 mo. lease, 39k miles, 8 months in and i have 8,800 on her. we started the lease stating there was 498 miles on it so i'd pick up a few extra miles right away heh. :-)

a second car helps big time, figure it this way, if you feel you are going to go over your miles its going to cost you around $5,000. so go out and buy a nice little fun car for $5,000, (in my case '98 jetta VR6). because its going to cost you that much anyway, may as well have fun with the 5k you were going to spend at the end of you lease. problem solved.
