I bought my 2004 in '08 of 2005 as a leftover with 50 miles.
How do I find out a definitive date as to when it expires?
I know this must sound like a stupid question but everything else I have ever bought has been used or I modified it so much the dealer would have only laughed at me anyway.

Stryfox, I bought my '04 XF in March of '05. I was told at the time the full warranty starts when you sign the bill of sale.

 

The warrantee started from the first day your vehicle was put into service.
You can find out this date from any chrysler dealership, or just call the warrantee 800 number on chrysler.com.
For example, I bought a 2004 XF in December '05, but mile 1 was put on the odometer in Oct '03, so even though there's only 11k mi on my odometer now, I only have a few months of warrantee coverage left.

the "new" vehicle warranty coverage begins on the day you took delivery of the vehicle. otherwise, it begins the day the vehicle was put into service as a dealer "demo" or Daimler Chrysler Corporation company vehicle. you should be able to find the starting date for you warranty in your purchase documentation.
