Just to bring all of you up to date on the gas problems in the western part of North Carolina. The Asheville, Hendersonville areas are running very short on gas as of this morning (Sept 24). It seems to be confined to just this small area of the state however some of you might be planning to stop in Asheville on your way. Asheville is about an hour east of the Dragon and the last larger city in that area. It is located at the intersection of I-40 and I-26 ... They say this should last only a few more days but it has been going on for about 2 weeks. Just a heads up to those of you planing your drive. I'll update here as needed.

 

It's been a mess here in Asheville; yesterday there were nine police cars keeping order at a gas station with a ten block line.

Right now I have two vehicles and no gas.

As of today, there are quite a few more stations with gas.

It appears to the unaided eye to be a plot by green democrats to frorce us all to ride bicycles.

Next there will be lines at the Shwinn stores.

Look like will be coming in to Fontana villiage on a tue.such good deal on rooms that me and the better half decided to come in early, and do some fall site seeing and some picture taking of the fall colors and get some runs in on the Dragon to. Hope gas thing is better by then ,any updates this week or is it same ,let us know , See you soon Ray&Susan

Folks will be arriving Friday throughout the day.
I suggest a meeting time to be around 4:00 pm at the lodge.
We can do a Dragon run and then return to the lodge for dinner,drinks and meet and greet throughout the evening.

Max, hold on have to wash the green off.......... I've ridden my bike to work, errands and dinner out since mid-June logged 650 miles. Looking to keep riding through the winter, we'll see, broken bones make me nervous and I'm not a spring chicken anymore!

All of you have a GREAT time at the Dragon we'll miss seeing everyone, the driving, (well maybe not me) the food, but most of all the evenings around the fire place.

 

I hope it's Santa's but it is probably the Prosecuting atty.
