Rudy gave me a ride in his 'six to Saturday dinner at Woodward. He stomped it getting on the the highway and gave me a taste of the power. If my face had stayed like that I would not need a face lift, mind you I would look funny with my ears so far back on my head.
I was sad to hear that his car was creased on the way home, he's OK let's be thankful for that.
Rudy had some luck this weekend though, at the Saturday dinner he swapped his salmon portion for Bluecoupes chicken portion out of their platters. Good move, Bluecoupe got food poisoning and spent an extra two hours or so on the road checking out the washroom facilities on the route from Detroit to his home.
Fortunately that is not the normal cause of pucker in an SRT-6.

tighed1,
tonygg was very worried about what the problem could be....and the potential cost.while we were hot-tubbing, the problem came up in conversation ,and rudy being the giood guy that he is...offered to "look at it" tony was so happy with that.they took off to have a look and by the time some of the rest of dried off....rudy had the problem solved. he also installed a component it to my roadster that allows me to push the button once to finish a complete cycle...instead of having to hold the button for the whole cycle.he had the centre console ripped apart.....cutting wires and soldering and back together in no time.thankyou rudy

I just got home safely with an extra 7.5 hour detour (I did not get lost)
Bus off highway and into ditch. One women killed and others seriously injured. Re-directing everyone onto #403 had us heading for the town of Brantford. We got off at Hwy#24, drove through Cambridge and back onto Hwy #401.
I had a blast this weekend! It was a pleasure to meet all the new people and see old friends again. It really nice to be able to put a face with the screenname and you SOCO guys are a hoot to hang out with. I'm glad everyone made it back home safe. I made it home safe but the little blue go-kart didn't fair as well. I was sideswiped on I-294 coming out of Chicago. Nothing too serious, just a few body panels that will need some work. It could have been a lot worse so I'm not too worked up about it. I do really hope that the paint work can end up being a dead ringer match though as this color I think will really show the difference if not done right. Here's a few pics of the damage.

Like I said, it could have been worse but it's never fun having this happen.
Everyone take care and if anyone knows someone really good at bodywork and paint in the Chicago area, I'd love to hear about them.

If you're really serious about the Chgo area, we had a GTG tour of a "great" shop for customizing and auto repair called : Custom Classics Inc. 518 Burnett Road, Island Lake, IL 60042 847-487-0828
They do world class customizing and repair. In fact they are very near FPs house. He went with us on the tour, and was blown away. They did a bumper repair for me because of a hit I took in St Louis at the CAA parking garage at Harrahs, and worked with my insurance, and only cost me my deductible. You might be able to get your estimates and fax it with pics to them and set up a time for a visit. Talk to FP or Gary about what they think about the place, or use my name (Howard - black roadster bumper). Good Luck .......

Not really much of a story but rather a lady in a Buick didn't see me and changed lanes right into me. Didn't even have a chance to swerve out of the way. Just bam and it was over with. Pulled over and exchanged ins info and then continued on my way home.
Pulled in the driveway at the beach house at Myrtle Beach at 6:20PM on Sunday(900 miles)left at 4:00AM about 14 1/2 hour drive. Had a great time at Woodward despite the rain and met some new friends and of course saw alot of old freinds. I got to see the concept at the museum which was great. Thanks to Jim(Harbor)for all his hospitality and work involved in this GTG and thanks to Nick(Gryfan)for all the goodies I think I can speak for all when I say it was very much appreciated. Rudy you did a great job with the one-touch top kit, thank you. If you have never been to the Cruise you need to try and get there next year you'll have a great time. Pat

Both front and rear bumpers on my Crossfire were recently painted (rid of stone chips) and the shop I used was highly recommended and sure enough, the color match was perfect. I have the same color as you, SSB (Sapphire Silver Blue). So be optimistic Rudy, your newly repaired and painted fender should end up being a perfect match with the rest of the car. Anything less is unacceptable in today's paint industry....

Rudy my body guy at the dealership said it is a hard color to match but believe me my car has been painted 6 different times and they have always matched it very close. They mix the paint at the shop so they can tweak the mix as they need. Pat
