4th Annual Fall 2010 - Tail of the Dragon GTG - Oct. 1, 2, 3
Gary, thanks again for all the effort you're putting into this. It would not be the same without someone taking the initiative and effort to ensure this is all going smoothly. I know Kim and I can't wait to get up there and meet everyone.

I'm asking that everyone plan to begin our line up on Saturday morning at the lodge at 8:30 and be ready to pull out at 9:00.
I have arranged with US129photos.com to be at the Fontana Dam by 9:00am for our arrival for all the professional photos.
I want to be sure we have EVERYONE there for the group pic and allow enough time for anyone who wants professional photos taken of just their car with or without them it it
I have made arrangements with the park ranger to have the parking lot across the Dam from the visitors center reserved for our group exclusively.
I will have maps of both Saturday and Sunday routes with route directions to pass out to ALL drivers at the lodge on Friday night in the lobby at 9pm when I ask that everyone be present for a short drivers meeting.

Getting anxious.
I feel like a little boy at church, standing on one leg and then another waiting for the time to pass so I can go play.

Well, hopefully the car should be running right by tomorrow and I have a possible source for a pair of used tires to put on my rear wheels to get me through. If all goes well, I'll still make it to the lodge on friday afternoon.

This route we found by accident last fall. It is LOTS of fun. Plenty of curves and decent speed limits (45-55).

A run up to Dillsboro after this is nice as well. Nice little town with touristy types of things.

On Saturday we don't even start the run until 11:30 (after the photos at the Dam etc) and usually take at least an hour in Robbinsville for lunch.
Usually arrive back at the lodge around 5 for the BBQ at 6
Sunday we leave around 10am after some Dragon runs and head to Cherokee again about an hour for lunch and then through the Smokies and back around through the Dragon again and back to the lodge around 4pm
