sorry folks i won't make it yet again this yr.
flying to las vegas sat morning to pick up another 996 turbo . this one is 900 hp!!
Ok, today I did my usual Cherahala run. Saw a handful of sportbikes, no Harleys and a few minivans between Robbinsviile and Tellico.
I KNEW the traffic would be light on Easter, had no idea it would be THIS light. THe Dragon was pretty clean as well.

To everyone at the spring Dragon, I am home in my driveway. Had a great time with all of you this weekend hope to see everyone again in the fall. Be safe getting home!
STOP TEASING THOSE OF US WHO COULDN'T MAKE IT.

I was on the Dragon last nite in my dreams. Nobody was there, including all my Crossie friends. It just wasn't the same.
Home safe and happy from the Spring TOD! Special thanks to "Pizza Guy" Mark for putting this together. Great job! Thanks too to Barbara Unrein for her piano work, and for Randy and Dave's reading in church. Thanks too, to NICK for helping me become a better, faster driver
We are signed up for the next TWO Dragons, (God willing). Looking forward to seeing more of the XF family in the Fall.
Made it home in good time, sorry we couldn't make the morning run, but yesterday was a blast. A huge thanks and appreciation to Mark (pizzaguy) for hosting and welcoming first timers like myself. Courtney and I had a great time and I look forward to the next Spring meet if the "Easter Egg" is still invited, lol.
To everyone else, it was a pleasure to meet you all and I look forward to our next get together!

Way to go Mark. Small group this spring for sure. But it sounds like you had the dragon to yourself, which is rare. See you all in the fall. I may not stay at the inn though. We shall see. Looking for a house to rent and come down early.... I have friends in Knoxville I never have time to see...
For the moment, I have three things to say:
1) The first timers who attended went to an EPIC Dragon, because the roads had light traffic. REALLY light. (I predicted this ! )
2) DOC, I am coming to understand and share your love of Hellbender. (Had two AWESOME runs Saturday evening - one, I was chasing ANDY - it went off like chasing GARY!)
3) We had rain on three days all of it AFTER 8pm and BEFORE 6AM !!!!! High temps of 65 to 80!
I"m home - going to start laundry and start looking over what videos I have that are worth editing and uploading.

Oh, DAMN! Thanks.
Thanks go out to:
1) The Fontana Lodge staff - who took very good care of an unprepared PizzaGuy.
2) Jonathan - for leading the tourist class and leading the church service.
3) Barbara - for, again, providing piano for church
4) Julie - (Of Amstel1977 Mike and Julie) for helping set up the dry erase board in the Lobby. (And who ever then kept updating the same board - Julie claims it wasn't her).
5) Courtney - (Of "Indelibility" - Jason and Courtney) for being the only lady who will ride with me other than Kim Nugent - you helped keep the tradition alive that a lady rides with me on the "Sunset Cruise".
6) All First time Dragon attendees - you make the weekend worth it.
My mind has not slowed down, I know there is more to say, but I know a lot of you won't be checking this thread often and I wanted to get the above said while you are still watching the thread.

Mark: Glad everything turned out great...I sure missed all of you...I ready for the Fall...BTW, glad to see you "did'nt" run into the trees...LOL...Carl
So what was the total number of Crossfires in attendance and did anyone stay for today (Sunday runs) ??
We had a short run up and down the DRagon (to the Overlook), me and two cars. THEN, 7 cars went to "The Road to NoWhere".
Others all left early. Two couples stayed til tomorrow, but, sadly, I could not stay.
Working on a count, Gary.

Had a blast on my first trip to the dragon! LOVED the sunset cruise. It definitely has my vote as a keeper. Thanks to everyone for being so welcoming to the newbies. Maybe next time I'll actually do some driving

I hope to see you in the fall, but understand that life may interfere with that - but you and Kim Nugent are in an exclusive club now.
My two favorite statements of the weekend:
"Yea, well, I was volun-told......" Courtney
""When does he have time to talk on the radio?" Keith's Friend Ray
EDIT: Send or post a picture of the goat ! PLEASE!
