The Cherohala Run

I took pizzaguy's proposed Cherohala Run route for the Spring Dragon GTG and created another version with gas stops, scenic venues, and lunch (Tellicafe) for folks to use. Map shows driving times for segments and overall trip. Really a nice route to enjoy the roadways and see a couple of scenic venues. I used driving speeds that I thought were applicable to the various roadways. It's attached to this post.

 

You are now in charge of making those for ALL routes.

(If you don't mind, Im gonna put that in the routes post and remove my crappy version... I'll credit you!)

 

Thanks, but not necessary to credit me. I like creating these & saving for future use. I've got quite a few!

1) Read the link REDDOG gave you.

2) Go to Walmart (or Radio Shack or somewhere) and get two FRS radios.
(Similar to these: Motorola Talkabout MH230R Two Way Radios ) DO NOT buy from eBay or other online sellers as you may end up with illegal and unusable radios with non-USA channels.

3) Try to show up on Thursday (Some of us get there on Thursday - Friday before about 2pm, the traffic is very light and we always have a good time - there will be a formal tour on Friday morning and probably 1 or 2 other route options as well.)

Thanks Dee, We are getting excited about the trip already. We are flying into Atlanta a few days before the Dragon weekend and staying a few days after.

 

LoL, We have read all the posts about The Dragon and the fun you guys have there for a number of years and have always wanted to be a part of it, but the dates have never worked for us!!! This spring one is just perfect! As for the cost.............. It's only money lol

We are flying into Atlanta and renting a car, hopefully a Camaro ss :-)

 

Well if you get a Camero SS you may not need my wheels- yet the offer still stands -- hehe!
I had Z 28, it would not have done well on the Dragon, but then again, its more about the driver....my pals will attest >> I GOT A LOT TO LEARN..... I got lost after getting lost (ha!)... yet Mark waited for this newbee chick.... like he said he would....that made all the difference.....

I have booked a Camaro :-) but it would be rather rude not to drive The Dragon in a Crossfire after traveling so far lol, so will be taking you up on your very kind offer :-)
