10th Annual Fall 2016 - Tail of the Dragon GTG - Sept 30, Oct 1, 2
ANNOUNCEMENT
I just received this message from Jim and Trish a few moments ago.
Franc, it is with utmost disappointment that I must cancel the 4th Annual Crossfire Lunch. We are working through a serious family health issue (not Trish or me) and it has become an all consuming endeavor. I am so truly sorry for the late notice but we just got the diagnosis today. I hope we can all get together next year.
Jim
Franc's Off road is cancelled.
I will try to put something together for anyone who plans to be on this run Friday. Surely there is a gravel road we can get lost on somewhere in NC.
Stay tuned

My sympathy to these wonderful hosts during what sounds to be a very difficult time......
The Dragon planning committee has become aware of this cancellation and we will be looking at alternatives for Friday to accommodate all who had planned to attend
The Dragon planning committee has Drivers/Leaders who would have attended this event on Friday
We will now be making other arrangements to provide enjoyable runs for all who were going to attend this event
Info will be available in the lobby no later than Friday morning as to the optional routes being planned.

Franc, I remember that they are from my area of Florida. If there is anything I can do for them tell them to contact me. Also, they are in our thoughts and prayers.

Yea, we will have enough resources to lead some runs on Friday. I'm going to stick to the two runs I offered, I know Thorn will be there to lead as well as Franc - so that's enough for about 30 cars right there.
We will be OK.
We will be OK.
Is the Lodge book or are you looking for somthing close to bar Lol
SPECIAL NOTE:
I now know of thee people driving non-sports cars to the fall Dragon. These people intend to ride along and get to know the car, us and the event/roads. If your right seat is available, please consider volunteering to let one of them ride along! Contact me here, on Facebook, or mention it to Dee at check-in.
Thanks!

I have brought friends the past two Fall Dragons. Each one loved it. I had an empty seat and thought it might be great to show them what these little cars can do. My favorite line after a hot Dragon run last year was.... "My Charger couldn't do that!"
This year I have my very best friend as my passenger, my friend who said YES to being my wife! Not sure if she will be driving any of the roads yet, she has leadfootitis now and then.

Be careful. New wives have been known to run after meeting your Crossfire friends.
I must apologize for Friday's run being cancelled. I know Jim and Trish look so forward to the event with their Crossie pals. And this year looked to be perfect weather and all was shaping up well.
I still don't know the details but it must be quite serious. Our prayers are with them in this difficult time.
I have accepted and invitation to Zip line on the Friday before the Meet. So I will not be leading a group. I believe Gary (Valk) and Mark (Pizza) have found fill ins for those who planned to attend.
See ya'll at the Lodge on Friday evening.

Yea, we are covered for leaders on Friday.
We will be providing sign up sheets on the sign-in table in the Lobby of the Lodge starting Thursday night. We've had issues with people being left behind and leaders not knowing who was going with them - so we are trying the 'sign up sheet' idea to see how it works.
On the signup sheet, I think we will have information on:
It's all a work in progress and I worked two days over 12 hours and one over 14 hours this week, I'm not sure how this will work but the committee IS working on this.

- WHo is leading
- What color flag their car will have on it (so you know who you are looking for)
- Where they are going
- What time they are leaving

Crumpy and I will pedal as fast as we can. We know it'll be tough but,,,; PLEASE, hold out as best you can and keep our place in line!

Message to all Crossfire Fall 2016 Event Planning group (Dee, Mark and others):
Do we have any idea how many cars/people are interested in the winery runs I plan to lead? I wanted to see how many we might have for a lunch stop and to give the wineries advanced notice of our arrival. I don't use this forum site much so please respond to me by either call or text to 404.245.5481 or by email to Larskeller@comcast.net. Thanks.

What kind of walkie talkie radio will folks be using? UHF 400-480MHZ? Any particular channel?

Just go to Walmart, Target, Cabela or Meijer and get a set of 14 or 22 channel radios like these:
Midland® X-Talker XT T10 Radio : Cabela's
We will use Channel 10 around the Lodge so be monitoring that when you arrive. Sub Code "None" or "00".
On the runs, your leader will tell you what channel to use.
