Great to see so many new and old names on the list the number has risen dramatically over the past couple of weeks only a few more to reach 60 !!!!

NEWS FLASH

I have removed myself (in this thread and Franc's) from the list of those going Friday to the lunch BBQ at Franc's friends' - due to popular demand, I will be leading the following on Friday:

1) 9:30am - A run up the Dragon to and back with a stop at Look Rock IF the weather is clear
2) 11:00am - I leave the Lodge for "The Road to NoWhere" with lunch in Bryson City and perhaps a walk at least part way down to the lake - returning around 4-4:30


This is reflected in the revised attendee package that should be going out in email tonight or tomorrow.

Pizza, I may be joining you for one or both cruises Friday. We found a neat place for lunch not far from Brysons though and thought we'd throw that out as an option. It's call Rivers End. Think we may do the cruise there with you, hit the brewery there and then head to Rivers End for Lunch instead of eating in Bryson.

Also, just a quick question on the run up the Dragon - is that a casual cruise or a bat out of hell cruise. I'm thinking my wife won't won't to go too fast on our first run (darn).

All the runs will be on clipboards in the lobby at Fontana resort beginning Friday and that is where we will be requesting each member attending to put in their run requests and they will be tallied at that point
No need to speak for a run here on the forum because it will be asked of you again at the event

 

If you have never been there find an experienced leader and follow them through for a "spirited" run for maximum thrill factor.

 

First, a lot of people get lunch in Bryson City and then go looking for shirts, etc to buy. But I'm REALLY interested in a different place to eat - so we can discuss this before we depart.

The way I would do the DRagon is this:

• Run it very moderately on the way out as a group.
• Maybe stop at Look Rock if the weather is nice.
• Run back to the Lodge at "Your own pace" based on traffic, personal preference and LEO presence. (I do this cause no one can get lost, even if we get separated, cause it's such a simple route and this way those of us who want to push it have their chance.)
