Happy as always to be sharing a weekend with the Crossfires up at Fontana. We have many this time coming out Wed and staying through Mon, so expect to see us around a bit more often and longer. We are currently looking at around the normal 75-100 Gen Coupes to show up.

I'll blow into Deal's gap about noon on Thursday - THIS time, I'm riding with you at least once.

If the damn weather would just knock off the rain, I'm gonna go up some Saturday or weekday and practice a bit - haven't had the chance in the past year other than with the group.

 

Any predictions on a Friday evening "sunset" cruise up your favorite hill? I don't see it on the list of runs post.

 

I am PROMISING to do it. I got a lot of complaints this spring 'cause I got so busy and didn't come thru.

I find it ironic that the most annoying and inconsiderate people on the Dragon, the Harley riders, who collectively seem to think THEY are the safest people on the road - are so often crashing (at low speed, no less) and crossing the center line.

I've been up there at least 18-20 times and I have not seen a sportbike come across the line (maybe lean across) but I've seen Harleys over the line several times.

 

IT'S THE RIDER....I've taken all 3 across the dragon ( 1300 Hayabusa, 83 shovelhead, Xfire ) the only thing I haven't seen crashed up there IS a X-fire (only because the bikes wouldn't get out of my way) The most dangerous ones ,are those trying to show off for everyone else. Just look at the tree.. lol ( tree of shame ,where the locals hang parts ,picked up off the road!)

 

Are you still in ATL? The Texas convoy is doing a single day from Houston to Fontana Wednesday, but I am diverting to Marrietta to spend Wednesday night at a friends place so I can pickup Sara who is flying in Thursday morning. We should be on our way north via Blood Mountain around noon or so.

As for a ride along, sure no problem. Just know that this will be my last Dragon Run in a Gen Coupe and possibly my last for a while. With Sara and I getting married 2 weeks after this Dragon run and wanting to potentially start having kids next year, my money and time will be devoted to family needs fairly quickly.

Alaxfire: I still have my SRT6. Didn't sell, must be for a reason. I've restored it a bit and she is running great so I'm going to enjoy her.
