Jeff & Colleen - Quick follow-up question. Did you guys end up buying the 2nd Crossfire?
We weren't able to look at it Friday, but did get to see it Saturday. While it was driving well, there was question about the steering box being damaged. We didn't want to chance 5.5 hours of interstate driving with it. We're still debating if there's a way we could trailer it back. As of now, no, we didn't buy it. 😞
Thanks to forum member ZH SRT6 we were able to have two key XFire executives join us for dinner Friday and share their insights on the development, launch & politics involved in the early-to-mid 2000 time period.
The XF Chief Engineer (still working at FCA) and the Program Manager dined with our group and informally spoke for almost 2 hours with lots of time for Q&A.
The behind-the-scene history these two gents possess, like setting up the Karmann plant and the XF hemi mule was truly fascinating.
They also cleared up many myths associated with our cars.

We'll figure out how to share some of their photos of the early XF renderings, Karmann plant, manufacturing dies, etc. Going forward,
I think all presentations should be given on tennis courts.
The remainder of the Cruise weekend went well with perfect weather and a great group of owners. As a bonus, Eric met up with us Sat and Rob (NeedsWings) was able to join us Fri & Sat. Safe travels back home to all.

I've seen many of you who attended the dream cruise have posted very good pictures on Facebook too
