Well... My first grandchild decided to make his entrance into the world a couple weeks ahead of his "original factory delivery date". The Mrs. and I are heading to Texas, so I will now miss the Tail of the Dragon.
I'll have to make the Fall event as my inaugural attendance. Drive safe!

I am going to try to head out early Friday. Mabye roll in 10-11am.
It's the best I can do.
VERY sorry I can't be there Thursday, all. Life really got in the way.
At this point, I think this will be the last Dragon my car sees, I will fly in each fall, but this will be my last Dragon with my car, as I think I will move to Dallas, Texas this summer.

The weather forecast for this one looks pretty good. 10% chance of rain and highs in the mid 60's thru Sunday.

You all have an enjoyable weekend.
Likely ya all will be together for the runs in one group due to the number of cars attending.
I'll be there in the Fall with my recently purchased 6 speed Roadster.
I gotta come enjoy this Fall event topless and shifting gears thru the turns !!

Interesting news about Fontana Lodge. Management here has changed again, the most impact is the Grill and Restaurant.
For example, at the Grilll, the Dam burger has gone from $12 to $8.99; also, the menu at the grill has changed.
There have been changes at the Mountain View Restaurant as well.

The cars are covered in heavy frozen dew this morning, temps are hovering around 31-33F. Todays' high will approach 70F. Forecast is for 100% sunshine today and tomorrow.

His caliper had come off.
The Theory:
One bolt came out or broke off (sorry, I did not look closely enough to see). Then, all the stress of the braking action over stressed the caliber's eyelet around the one bolt remaining - and the caliper fractured.
What I did:
I got some solid number 10 (or 12?) ground wire from Fontana Maintenance and hung the caliper from an exhaust hanger.
The wheel was marred up some from the caliper falling off - but no real damage was done. He limped home with three wheel brakes.
