Did you guys get a notice in the mail???
I got one today... it says "The radiator cooling fan motor on your vehicle (Vin: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX) may have been improperly assembled. This can cause the fan motor to fail and result in the engine damage from overheating under certain operating conditions".
I'm just worried because last time I went to the service department at my local dealership it was a total nightmare... I went in for an oil change and left with a broken center console (I don't want them to touch my motor).
Since Chrysler is a part of Mercedes Benz, do you guys think my local M-benz dealerships service department can handle the problem???

This fix notice has been around for a while. Some dealers have the parts, others will have to order them. Mine was completed in a couple hours.
MB dealers are not going to do the fix. You need to take it to a Chrysler dealer. If you are not comfortable with your dealer's service dept try to find another. If necessary find someone on the forum near you that can suggest a dealer they are satisfied with.
I have had a large number of new cars over my many years. Many different brands both foreign and domestic. I have had my share of losers (dealer service depts) and issues with cars that fell into the intermittent problem area that the dealers seemed incapable of reproducing. Getting the "sunshine treatment" (leaving the car and having the service dept park it in the back in the sun and never doing a thing) from more than one. I spend as much time checking a dealer's service reputation as getting a great purchase deal.
My dealer in SoCal (Ontario Jeep Chrysler) has been very good. I have been using them since 1999 and three different vehicles.
There are good dealer service depts out there, unfortunately you may have to search for them.
