Permanent Spoiler on LTD Model
I saw an SRT6 the other day. It looks like the permanent spoiler is just attached over the popup spoiler that the comes with the Base/LTD models. Knowing that, does anyone know if you can deactivate the manual spoiler on an LTD model and buy an SRT6 type permanent spoiler aftermarket. Just curious.
I don't see why not. You'd have to get the part numbers from your dealer and have them order the proper parts for the SRT, and disable the wing control by unplugging it or it may require the removal of the actuator.
you can disable the spoilers function by pulling the fuse under the engine compartment as i have done... its been this way for 3 years on my car.
I'm not talking about just disabling the active spoiler, I'm talking about being able to mount the permanent one, it may require a different 'active spoiler' cover and body mount underneath.
This would require removal of the actuation system. I can look and see how mine is attached tonight and let you know.

I noticed that Andrew had disabled his rear spoiler. What does anyone think about the warning on page 84 of our Crossfire Owners manual:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Should a malfunction occur that prevents the spoiler from deploying automatically, a red warning light will illuminate in the override switch and an audible warning will sound.
Do not drive the vehicle at speeds above 62 mph (100 km/h) if the red spoiler warning indicator is illuminated. You could have reduced vehicle stability and control.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Is our car that unstable?

Andrew, By pulling the fuse under the engine compartment did it also silence the warning that the other poster mentions. Is that fuse connected to only the spoiler system? Hopefully, yes. Where did you purchase the SRT6 spoiler. Is it available through a Chrysler Dealership parts desk?

Why would you want to make anything that is not an SRT, look like an SRT? Wheels, spoiler, etc...
Seems if that's what you want, that's what you should get. It's like what I call a Harley "wanna-be". I see people buy something that looks like a Harley, try's to sound like a Harley, but it ain't a Harley, now is it.

once the fuse is pulled the spoiler will always stay in the down position. the switch light will flash above 60 mph or so... once reaching speeds over 90 mph the beeping noise begins (& stops when speeds lower under 90 mph). i have had the car to 110 mph w/o the spoiler and the car still feels solid. would i recommend top speed w/o the spoiler up?? no.
i just don't like the looks of the spoiler & this is why i decided to disable it... personal taste.
