cat likes laying on my covertible top
Any suggestions on how to remove all the white cat hair from my black top? Also any suggestions on keeping the cat from climbing on my car?
~ these brushes tend to work quite well: http://www.amazon.com/FURemover-Pet-.../dp/B000E8WJWA

or you can use a shop vac.
note - just don't get too aggressive (light pressure)... or plastic rub marks from the vacuum nozzle will slightly transfer onto the top.

as for the cat... if this is happening at your house... i would just get a large flat piece of cardboard and lay it on your roof when parked outside.

I had a cat get on my Roadster top once and found using a good vacuum cleaner was the best way to pick up the hairs and once their in the vacuum they won't be blowing back on.
pepper spray is also a good way to train those stray cats, just make sure you're upwind, ...
Usually I just lay out the raccoon trap, once I catch them we go for a really long drive to the rich nieghborhood.

I have three cats and this sponge thing is the best I thing I have used to remove hair! You have to search a bit to find one on the link below.
"This Yellow Color-coded DRY SPONGE is the MOST EFFECTIVE tool for pet hair removal. This DRY SPONGE is designed with a compound that creates a static electrical charge after wiping an affected surface. The charge is transferred to the pet hair and actually LIFTS IT and causes it to curl into an actual hair ball for easily disposal. Our Yellow color-coded PET HAIR REMOVAL DRY SPONGE" will eliminate fine pet hair from clothing, upholstery, and automobile interiors. Dog hair, cat hair, horse hair...and EVEN LION HAIR is NO match for this unique, specialty DRY SPONGE."

Though this is going on a tangent...
I lived in the Mohavi Desert for a few years and had to deal with Swedish Tree rats. The best non lethal deterrent for rats is... cat hair.
Simply collect some cat hair (with dander, if available... ie, cat dandruff) and tie it up inside a women's nylon sock. Tuck the little bag of fur into the nooks/corners of places you find the rats.
This works GREAT inside engines in areas that don't get too hot.
The smell of the cat fur makes the rodents run.
Now, if there was something that worked the same way FOR cats.

Ok.. this post will actually be on topic and helpful...
On a serious note...
Lemon juice. Cats do not like lemon juice.
See if you can concoct something that won't stain your cover...
