SNOWTOP,

We are creating a separate gallery for XF. Like we have for the Solstice and SKY. This will take a little while. Next month is our goal. We also have 2 types of SLK we are creating at the same time. By far yours will be the best!!!

Hello,

I've been debating about purchasing one of these windscreens from windrestrictor.com. Has anyone found anyone else that they are more satisfied with or should I go with them?

Thanks in advance, have a great weekend.

If you want illumination, I have not found nor seen anything that comes close to King Penn's product. However, I did own a non-illuminated windscreen that was fine for the purpose of blocking the wind, easy on the wallet, but far less than attractive for my car.

I debated for a year about this purchase. I then pulled the trigger and ma so glad I did. I did buy mine on ebay. He usually has several listed and some bidders get a fantastic price on them.

Good luck. I am going to be installing the dimmer switch. I recommend that option as the illumination, I have blue and it is rather bright at night and since I have it attached to my light switch, it's going to be nice to dim the intensity to my liking. During the day, the illumination if very subtle and eye catching.

Not cheap but worth it.

The only statement I have heard is that the ones that go behind the roll bars block a bit more wind but I find mine more than fine. A Crossfire deserves the best. Golfer Gal, what is your feeling on this since you have had both?

Yes, the windscreens that go behind the roll bars do block a bit more of the wind. It's not a huge difference and not enough to not pull the trigger on Kingpen screen.

So I was considering getting an illuminated wind restrictor for my crossfire but before i spent all the money I was wondering if there are any laws against it - specifically in Washington. I know that most neons are illegal in Washington but wasn't sure if the illuminated wind restrictor counted as a neon or that maybe only specific colors were illegal.

Thanks for any help!

I have one and I live in WA, and I've not had any issues...was told that the lights are not bright enough or tall enough to be considered illegal...however, I have not had any concerns.

I would not hesitate to get this for your car.

Cool Re: Illuminated Wind Screen

I believe the illuminated wind screen uses an LED bulb rather than a neon bulb/tube. LED bulbs are legal in all states, but certain "color" bulbs that are used by Police, Fire Department and Emergency Services are illegal, I would check your state and county vehicle laws regarding the colors that you can use.

I do not have the illuminated wind screen, I have the OEM Mopar wind screen. But I do have blue LED bulbs in the upper corners of the headlamps, which in my state are illegal...this is the color that the Police use. I have not been stopped for having them as yet (and hopefully not), when my HID lights are on you can barely see the blue LED's.

Windscreens that are illuminated come with LED system that is not overly bright or obnoxious.

Also, there is an optional dimmer **** and brake lamp module upgrade....

I purchased the dimmer switch, but need to know if the wiring should be long enough to be installed in the car? My husband thinks the wiring that came with the unit is too short and would need to install the switch in the trunk..that doesn't make sense to me as the practicality of having to get in and out of the car to dim the lights would be nil.

I purchased the dimmer switch from a forum member. I'm reluctant to have my husband attempt the install as he broke the a part while hooking up the regular wiring.

Please advise, and any idea what it might cost me to have it installed by a someone that is familiar with wiring?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
