Stupid Wiper Question
I bought my 2005 xfire new in April 2007. One windshield wiper blade started to peel. Do you think I should just replace it (my $6 cost) or get the dealer to do it under warranty (not the dealer where I bought it - too far away).
I had both of mine replaced at the dealership under warranty. Not the dealer where I bought it. I wanted the same wiper blades that came with the car. I had no problem as the warranty is 12 months on wipers.

I should have mentioned I bought my car from the original shipped to dealer in michigan in january. It was never titled so when I bought it was sold as new. My warranty did not start till january. I also have the extended warranty. I live in columbus, ohio and found a great dealer here that takes care of any problems. (body control module went out).

Good luck...for $6, gas I'd just replace it...but, that's me. I live in the PNW, so we get a lot of rain, and I wouldn't want to be caught without a good wiper blade.
Give the dealer a shot, if you don't mind taking the time. I'd call ahead and talk to the service manager to make sure they have the parts and can take care of you without you standing around the waiting room. I've gone in for simple adjustments...and I've had to wait for extended periods of time.

I think I'll spring for the $6. I called one service dept and asked if I could pick it up, they actually said NO, I need to make an appointment!

Time vs money. How long is it going to take you to visit your dealer (plus gas) versus just picking up a blade?
Why are we voting on a $6 part? Let's talk in a few years when clutches start to go and we have serious money choices to make!
