Default Just Love Look'in At It

A while back I was in my doctors office and we were talking about the newer Indian motorcycles. He said he would like one but was to afraid to ride it but would like to put one in his den and "just look at it".

I bought an 05 black roadster about a month ago and vowed to not take it out when the roads are wet. I've only put about 500 miles on it so far but that's ok because I enjoy just going out in the garage and "look at it.

I'm a big fan of anything Art Deco and love the old Bugatti's, Talbot-Lagos, Delahaye, and Delage. Try Google imaging these great cars and you can see where the "retro" styling for our xfire came from.

Got to go for now, I need to go out to the garage and look at one more time.Check out my avitar, it's a 1930's Bugatti Atlantic, then check out the Chrysler Atlantic concept. To bad Chrysler didn't produce that one.

Check out 1935 Voisin Aerosport coupe, see the Chrysler 300?
Also my favorites 1934 Voisin Saloit Roadster and the 1938 Delage. Try the modern Bugatti concept EB-218 with a ridge down the centerline and tailights like the crossfire.

I share your admiration of the "Classics" as I'm sure many Crossfires owners do. I also live in Ohio and have a deep desire to keep my car pristine for many years to come.
i agree DRIVE = LOVE but during the winter months LOOK also = LOVE.

Good luck with keeping it out of the rain....

You bet. Here is the avatar I used for several years:

Talbot-Lago T150 SS built by Figoni et Falaschi; 1937 model, as I recall.

Yes, the Crossfire has striking looks, great engine and should be serviced on time and treated well. But lets be honest, the car is built and designed to be used in all conditions including the wet. I for one would rather buy a truely used Crossfire with a decent mileage, rather than a hardly used low mileage one, which has been kept in the warm for most of its life and only driven out on sunny days. It may look prestine, but the lack of use is not an asset to wheel bearing, seals, oil, brakes, hoses etc etc.

I agree UKKEN, I still take it out on dry days such as yesterday, Christmas day, got to keep the oil stirred up and the seals moist.

We visited your fine country in 1993 and my paternal grandmother was born in Manchester. It rained the whole time we were in England so I see your point. Thanks for the reply.

I'm a big fan of art deco too. Guess was one reason I was drawn to these cars. I get double the pleasure when I walk into my garage and see a coupe and roadster sitting side-by-side. Puts a smile on my face every time.

You guys are all so specific!

I like any and all cars...everything from Stanley Steamers, Duesenbergs, Crossfires (duh!), 70's Monte Carlo's, my project '60 DeSoto Adventurer... everything...though if I had to pick one Chrysler car I wish they would have built, that's easy...ME412!

WOW, I love that car!
