Default Crossfire Trailer Hitch?

Has ANYONE yet made available, or is anyone aware of a business or private owner, who has concieved of a small reciever hitch for the Crossfire?. What I had in mind was to pull a very small, lightweight fishing or racing boat, NOT a big bass boat etc. I have a 06 Roadster but should work on all????

I would think the center mounted exhaust tips would prohibit having a hitch.

There is a small, about 1" space between them that might allow some sort of installation?, anyhow that is why I am asking.

WOW you should contact the guy who was looking for a bike rack....WHY do these people come out of the woodwork about every 3 weeks. SPORTS CAR, SPORTS CAR seriously. In closing that one inch space between the muffler is a space between the MUFFLER tips. there is still a muffler behind that space, there is no way a hitch would work for these cars, let alone there isn't a hitch for these cars because you are the only one in the market for one.

I had a friend that at one time had a small motor carrier on the back of his vehicle. It consisted of two small reciever hitches, about two foot apart, that he placed the carriers in. Why could we not do the same and build a small drop down (just enough to get below the exhaust) cross bar whith a ball hitch on it to pull a small trailer. I will try to draw something up to make it a little clearer. I would like to pull a trailer with my small motorcycle on it.

The owner's manual states that towing of any kind is not recommended.

Oh well, where there is a will, there is a way. If we can send men to the moon, I am sure someone will come up with a way to do it. NO need?, I beg your pardon, I have a small 9'6" 50's racing boat that my Crossfire would PLAY with, & it is as SPORTY as the Crossfire. sure would look good back there for the 4th of July parade in town. Towing NOT recommended in owners manual, hey again, I stated, I am not trying to pull a house or make my Crossfire take the place of my ZR5 GMC Sonoma truck. I use my Mustang Convertaible, (much less H.P.), to pull the boat in the parade now & it just idles along, I can pull this rig with one finger, lets look for answers here, not accuse anyone of coming out of the woodwork, hey, we are all different, have different needs, so lets try to be a little more open minded.

I towed my boat with a 1972 Cadillac hearse, black of course! Don't let the negativity get you down!

As a add on, I was a car dealer for 40 years & a mechanic for 55 years so I know the difference between a sports car & a truck, & also DO NOT believe everything you read in a owners manual as it is a general guide for uninformed people only.

I think you should continue to use your Mustang to tow.

I also had a 1957 Buick Century Caballero wagon with a 425 dual quad Gran Sport motor in it, now that would be cool towing your 50s boat! It now resides in southern Cal. somewhere.

Punkin: Soon as it warms up in spring, the Mustang will be sold, cant drive both at once!. Yes, I know I can do the parade with the ZR5 BUT it would look SO COOL with the Crossfire pullin that little Mahogony race boat & motor, my other pride & joy!. Also I will try not to let the negative post get me down. This project might never happen, but I just threw it out there to see if others had some thoughts about a very small, unobtrusive reciever hitch.

I'd like a lightweight chromemolly hitch too, but it's not feasable on this car. I had a hitch on my Miata and my 350z. How else am I going to hook up a small trailer to tow my tools, tires, tent, cooler, etc etc to autox events and track days? HAHA, in this car I think I'll load it down and drive on my race tires to the event, not optimal but it will work. I am just scared of the days when the rain comes out :-0, ever try to drive in the wet on slicks?

I'm with you on this one, Punkin.

Use an XFire to tow a boat in a parade??? If you have a roadster you ought to be transporting a dignitary at the front of the parade. Otherwise, the mustang sounds about right for pulling the boat.

Ok First post for me. Bicycle rack 20 lbs. bicycle 20 lbs. Does this sound like towing. But that also requires a small hiich. I would rather do that than try to place a rack on the back of car with the spoiler. I have a truck but car is a lot more fun to drive. I also love to ride bikes. So ????? I just cant win.
