First limited driving experience
Today was the first chance I had to drive my 05 Roadster while on detour to the body shop who are performing myCDN bumper compliance modifications.
I thought i would provide some anecdotal feedback.
I thought i would provide some anecdotal feedback.
- It was reminiscent of past days driving my RWD 79 Corvette.
- I'm sorry to report that my old modified L82 Vette would have won off the line..

- The car corners very smooth however I think better quality tires would be an improvement. (We have some spectacular winding roads)
- The acceleration was smooth but I did notice the reported throttle delay
- I liked the tone of engine under acceleration and after driving it I'd be inclined to go with some exhaust mods for a morethroaty sound and some extra kick.
- It doesnt have the RPM snap that my 3.5 Nissan motor has with CAI and custom exhaust.
- I get the impression it has good bottom end torque and probably one of those engines that offers steady power to achieve top end speeds.
- The engine is smooth and quiet without any of the reported ticking, or idle variance.
- It was surprisingly good on the ice. I anticipated a nightmare.
- The transmission has that delay between shifts which gives it more of a Standard tranmission sound. (It shifts better than my 03 Nissan Altima.)
- I'm thinking this is more of a vehicle for calm steady cruising, cornering, and glamour >wife aboard, and not so much a stock street performer.
- I anticipate it will take me a while to feel "at one" with the car. It's all so new and a departure from what I have been driving.
- I have to get used driving a RWD again, then determine the outer limits of its handling capabilities.
- I see the Crossfire coupe as an interesting sporty car with character, many facets, moods, and nuances, which is why I refer to "her" in contrast to my old Vette and Blk 03 Altima which I refer to as "he".
- I can see myself spoiling her and becoming quite attached.
xoxox - Cant wait till spring!
buy the sprint booster from tvt,
I've went up against several 3.5 altimas, and yes they are quick, but in stock form my crossfire is about a fender length quicker

I understand the throttle response time is greatly improved...
I'd enjoy that because I'm used to the 3.5, jumping to life with just a tap of the peddle.
Why wasnt this addressed in production?
I plan to put headers on the 3.5. My wife doesnt like the drone of the cat back, dual dragger exhaust so I think I will quiet that down with high quality perfomance mufflers. My son was quick to put dibbs on the S/S mufflers.
I can only budget for so many mods so I think i'll leave the Crossfire stock for a while. When an affordable set of headers becomes available that will be the time that I tune the exhaust.....
Besides, I have to be a good boy and not speed or I'm going to be soon faced with some expensive premiums
The good Sheriff of Nottingham is alive and well...

Stock, it's probably not the best performance car out there. But it's lightyears ahead of my 1974 TR6. And I love the looks. As a two-seater sports car, it's probably one of the best buys today.
What's wrong with driving around with a babe as a passenger?

I agree, its the hottest car out there and interms of value there is nothing even close.
As far a s a babe as a passenger....nothing wrong with that. If you are refering to my quote, I'm implying that the car looks even better when my pretty wife is driving it.
